My name is Tom Kain, and I’m based just outside Tokyo, Japan.
A native of Minnesota (US), I studied Japanese in college and graduate school before deciding to set my roots down in Japan in 2008 and become a full-time freelance Japanese>English translator, editor, and educator.
In the more than 15 years since, I’ve had the opportunity to translate things in just about every genre imaginable. I’ve even found my way onto the airwaves with NHK, Japan’s public broadcaster.
